Hoke County is opening a second shelter for people evacuating for Hurricane Florence. The second shelter is opening tonight at 9 p.m. at Sandy Grove Middle School located at 300 Chason Road in Lumber Bridge. Pets are NOT allowed at the shelter at Sandy Grove Middle, and special needs assistance is not available at that site.
The shelter at Don Steed Elementary opened this evening at 6 p.m. and has a pet shelter there for people who are evacuating.
